These extremely high quality HDPE playground borders are 4' 4" long, 4" wide and available in either 8" or 12" heights. The overlapping ends and the simple ground spike installation allow you to install this system very quickly and easily.
This border is designed to use the ground spike as a hinge, re-configuring the borders to fit around each component of your equipment. Simply measure the use zone distance (often 6') from each component, bringing it closer to the equipment in many areas, instead of building a much larger box around the entire play area. By tailoring the borders to fit the use zone of your play equipment, you can easily reduce the amount of safety surfacing needed by approximately 15% - 35% (call 1-877-897-0422 for details).
Both our 8"H and 12"H playground borders feature an exclusive Surfacing Guide molded into the side. This guide serves as a measuring device on your playground, to enable you to easily review your loose fill surfacing depths and ensure adequate safety surfacing is always maintained, without grabbing a tape measure or a ruler.

These commercial quality High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) playground borders include UV inhibitors to greatly reduce fading and cracking. The more forgiving HDPE material and well rounded edges and ends, along with the concealed ground spikes, make this a much safer and attractive border than wood or cement.
Our 8" high playground borders are perfect for Early Childhood environments, when using rubber mulch and only a 6" depth of loose fill surfacing is required.
The 12" high APS playground border is perfect for all other applications, where a 9"h - 12"h loose fill material is required.
