Seasons of the Year is part of the nonfiction picture book series "Measuring Time." In this series time is defined as how long something takes and when things happen. In this title seasons of this year are discussed. A season takes a long time, one year, and there are four seasons. The four seasons are spring, winter, summer and fall.
Seasons change as the Earth travels around the Sun. It is cold in winter and in many places around the world it snows at this time of year. It warms up in spring, and trees and flowers, and vegetables all start to grow and blossom. It can be very hot outside during summer, and the days are much longer than they are in winter. In the fall the temperature cools down and the leaves on many trees change colors. Each season is different, but not all places on Earth have every season. Do you know the seasons where you live?
