The new "Cyclone" is just the latest of our awesome outdoor musical instruments from Percussion Play! Spinning the wheel will set the ball bearings inside the wheel into motion to mimic the sound of falling rain. From a gentle pitter-patter through a heavy rain shower to a full-on monsoon, players can control the intensity of the rain sound by how hard they spin the wheel, demonstrating the concept of cause and effect and encouraging gross motor skills.
This wonderful outdoor musical instrument has no age limit and will quickly become a prized element in a preschool, private or public school playground, a musical garden, music park, an elderly care program or anywhere people join to experience nature. Mounted on a sturdy stainless steel frame, the Cyclone is made of two HDPE panels embellished with thunderbolt aluminum inserts. The diameter is 18-1/2".
This inspirational musical instrument is part of the world class collection of outdoor playground instruments manufactured in the UK by Percussion Play. Percussion Play was recently honored with the Queen's Award for Enterprise, which is a prestigious award for outstanding achievement by UK businesses. Winners have usually been announced annually on 21st April, the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, however the royal family was in a two-week period of official mourning following the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The announcement was delayed until 29 April, 2021, prior to the passing of Her Majesty the following year, on September 8th, 2022.
