Proper supervision is a priority in an early years setting! The staff must be allowed to view children from all angles, without visual obstructions such as solid activity panels, walls or sides of a structure blocking their ability to monitor the children's safety. This structure includes large, clear, indestructible polycarbonate windows throughout, plus a clear bubble window, for maximum visibility.
The entire structure is designed to promote a smooth traffic flow, whereas the children's harmonious interaction is so safe, that it's truly amazing! The design allows the children to transition throughout the system without the usual pushing or running into each other. Even the fall points associated with most outdoor equipment are non-existent.
The developmental playground structure features a continuous variety of hand rails, hand holds and play events to grasp, providing support to assist first walkers to become mobile. Crawlers will grasp the feature, pull themselves up to a standing position, then learn to balance. At 11 to13 months, the child will begin using these features for stability, as they take their earliest steps. They will soon develop to the stage of cruising from play station to station throughout this inspiring play system, while enjoying the stability supplied by the hand rails and holds.
Both the ramp and steps include hand rails on both sides to support mobility. Their very high side panels prevent the possibility of falling off or climbing over the top of the sides.
It includes very safe, extra deep stairs, allowing for giant footsteps, supported by closed-off stair risers, eliminating trip hazards. The landing at the lowest stair creates a space to navigate their footsteps and it becomes a favorite gathering space for children to interact with each other. The width of both the ramp and stairs is ideal for a child to grasp one hand rail while climbing up to the deck, as a second child will see them, then grasp the opposing rail to exit down, passing each other safely and simultaneously, avoiding a collision.
The Slide w/Safety Barrier above prevents the usual 'headers' off the slide. The Safety Barrier will cause the children to stop at the slide entrance, whereas they will then grasp each lower hand hold, then sit before exiting safely from a seated position.
The sides of the slide are extra high, providing a safer experience for those children who must walk up the slide. The high slide sides compel the child to lean forward and grasp the sides for support. This helps to prevent tumbling backward, which may occur when young children stand upright while attempting to walk or run up a slide. (We highly recommend that you never allow children to climb up a slide, but we include this safety feature to help protect children if they do).
The ground level Tracking Tube, along with both the Tracking Chute with Ball Storage Bin and the Tracking Rail, help develop early eye-hand coordination, gross motor and pre-reading tracking skills. The texture panel supports the development of tactile visual perceptual skills.
This Dream Playground also features two Steering Wheels, which are placed closely together, to promote cooperative play as two buddies race each other. The Cozy Bench for 2 allows for a break from all the activities, providing an opportunity to sit with another child while honing their socialization skills.
