Multi-Cultural Instruments

Jamtown works directly with artisans, cooperatives and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) in six countries on three continents. These artisans are hard working folks in distant villages and in suburbs of large cities.

These are the craftspeople - many following in the steps of their parents and ancestors. Others making their way via entrepreneurial spirit. A sense of partnership is created quickly because personal connections are rare in the big business world. Sales of these instruments provide critical support to low-income families via fair wages, order prepayment, marketing and other assistance.

These partner organizations are almost all members of the WFTO World Fair Trade Organization. With your help, these partners & their families are closer to achieving their dreams! Jamtown John, Founder, served on the Board of the Fair Trade Federation for 3 years after joining in 1999. He has created two Parents’ Choice ® award-winning products: Jamtown Junior Pack and Sun Moon Star Drum.

All Jamtown instruments can be identified by the item numbers, which begin with "JT..." Other Multi-Cultural Instruments We offer a wonderful variety of multi-cultural instruments from other suppliers, and we will be adding more soon. Many of these instruments are made in more traditional manufacturing facilities, and designed to replicate instruments from many cultures. More of these will be added soon.
